Kristkindl Markt

Two "fabelhaft" days each December!

Drawing on the history of the German Evangelical and Reformed Church (which joined with the Congregational Churches in 1957 to create the UCC) this congregation began in 1993 to set aside the first Friday evening and all day Saturday in December to create a German inspired Christkind Markt. Our Kristkindl Markt is complete with lights, carols, Father Christmas, oompah bands and other entertainment, market stalls selling crafts, ornaments and other holiday gifts, and outstanding German foods in our own creation of a Bier Garten, that will make one feel as if they are visiting the old world. Children of all ages are encouraged to decorate their own gingerbread houses (with proceeds designated to Operation Breakthrough). Proceeds from the event help the church and the missions funded by this church. Kristkindl Markt grows larger each year and is a holiday tradition for the Brookside community and the entire Kansas City region.
